Our Purpose

Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church presents Walk for the World, an event for families, singles, and the community to come together. From the City of Buffalo, to the Village of Clarence, to a village in Mozambique, Africa... this event is so big, it's called...

Walk for the World

Anyone can take part—children, adults and seniors are all welcome. This is a casual walk with no fitness requirements. Not only will you be helping others, but there are incentives that can be earned for different fundraising levels.

You can help by walking and raising support, or by sponsoring someone who is walking. Corporate sponsorship is another great way to contribute to these worthy causes. Be sure to support these businesses who have sponsored this event as well.

The purpose of the walk is to raise funds for two worthy organizations,
with 100% of net proceeds to support the following:

Mozambique, Africa

Holistic Strategy (beginning with 10-12 villages in Gaza Province):

  • Improve community health by digging wells to provide clean water.
  • Educate on hygiene practices and provide bed netting to prevent malaria.
  • Enhance food security and nutrition by dramatically increasing reliable food production and crop diversity.
  • Care for orphaned and vulnerable children by enlisting and training adults to care for them and by increasing educational support for children.
  • Stake a claim for Mozambique’s future by reaching the young people through programs of evangelism and HIV/AIDS education.
  • Nurture grass-roots leadership by focusing on training community and church leaders to provide leadership to the programs.
